Shirra & Joe :: Wadsworth Wedding

Planning an outdoor wedding for a July afternoon can sometimes be a little tricky with the always-impending threat of a thunderstorm. But if you are one of the lucky ones, who avoids the storm, it can be beautiful.

Joe and Shirra…were the lucky ones.

Wendi hung out with Joe and the guys before the I do’s.

The outdoor space at the Wadsworth is unrivaled. It was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.

I love how Shirra looks over the crowd of guest to get a look at Joe.

The emotion that Joe and Shirra shared was exactly what I love to capture at a wedding. Look how happy they are:

They even let us in on the secret handshake..lol.

Ok.. I’ve worked with Joe pretty closely for the past 5 years… and NEVER have I seen such happiness and smiles, as I did this day.

Molly & Nick :: The Wedding

Molly and Nick are a super sweet super cute couple. And even though the threat of rain loomed over their outdoor ceremony and photo time, they were all smiles and go-with-the-flow. They are exactly the type of people I love to work with. Enjoy a peek at their day:

I love a May wedding. Specifically, I love Jenn and Mark’s wedding. The day was one of my favorites to date. Such attention to detail, fabulous people, and I can officially say- one of my top wedding venues: Candlewood Inn. Sweetness…

Leah & Matt :: The Waterview Wedding

Let me apologize in advance for the overhaul of photos to follow. After a long winter/off-season, paired with the fact that I was on my April vacation (got to love my teaching schedule!!), I wanted to make up for the minimal blog posts as of late. So here goes!!

The Waterview has some spectacular gardens which we enjoyed despite the 40 degree weather! They were all troopers.

The Waterview is always so impressive; even more so with the spectacular centerpieces.

I love this moment that Wendi captured.

Kristen & Chris :: The Bond Wedding

What a great way to end the 2009 wedding season- with Kristen, Chris, City Hall, The Bond, and the snow.

If you are going to have a December wedding, one of the things you hope for (or fear) is snow. Well, we got some on Kristen & Chris’ wedding day. Not a ton, but enough. Luckily, we didn’t have to completely brave the elements (since although it was snow, it was a kind of “rainy snow”) because we had the use of Hartford’s City Hall. This is the first time I got to shoot City Hall at night and all I can say is…wow. I typically love and crave some all natural light from my good friend the sun, but I lived without it in exchange for the drama of a nighttime City Hall.

And the Bond did not disappoint either. The normally decadent and gorgeous venue, was looking extra fabulous for the holiday season. Kristen and Chris had a night with a room full of friends and family who were all on the dance floor and showing everyone what a party is supposed to look like!

I had some super shooters with me as well: Wendi and Crista. Thanks girls for an awesome grand finale!!

off to The Bond…

Everyone loved this band. They were absolutely killer. This guitarist was rockin it.

And I have to end with some familiar faces.

Stephanie & Bryan :: Lord Thompson Manor

Pulling up to Lord Thompson Manor, the scenery absolutely strikes you. It is set back on a New England dirt road surrounded by the most gorgeous grounds. The scent of a fireplace hits you right as you get out of your car. And then you get inside… and wow. It is even more impressive than the outside. It was really the perfect setting for an intimate wedding for Stephanie and Bryan.

Just check out the details from one of the dinner rooms… (fall brides, take note!)

And although they we not able to go with the original plan of getting married on the grounds, the indoor alternative, was really beautiful.

As per Lord Thompson Manor tradition, the wedding was ushered outside for the toast… luckily the rain stopped for long enough for the toast and for our photo time.

This photo makes me sing, “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine..” lol

Maie-Jean & Patrick :: Wedding

Maie-Jean’s dress was absolutely stunning.. the beading, the back, the pick-ups.. it was really the perfect dress.

Like all Connecticut Catholic churches we have been to, this one did not disappoint! The grandeur of the space is the perfect setting to take your wedding vows.

These two could be sisters! But Maie-Jean is mom to this beautiful girl.

Jill & Jeff :: Wedding

I have a hard time just typing Jill. My mind and fingers insist on typing Jilly… so that is what we will go with.

So, Jilly and Jeff. Oh how I love them. I loved how they really focused on making us (us= myself & the fabulous “other” crista.. Crista Acosta) feel comfortable and like guests. Even though it was their wedding day, I felt important! Thanks! And the fact that everything for this wedding was no more than 15 minutes from my house was just a sweet added bonus. Jilly would make us laugh every time, without fail, that she would break from whatever she was doing to flash a fun-filled smile. (see below)

one of the coolest parts was that at the end of the night when all the guests took up sparklers for Jilly and Jeff to run through them to end the celebration!

Meet the Beautifier :: Kim Merrill

Kim is a fiercly talented make-up artist that I have had the pleasure to work with on numerous occasions, including my own wedding, boudoir shoots, my client’s weddings, and model shoots. Kim has an unbelievable talent for making every single person she works with, look absolutely amazing. When she is working a shoot, I know we are going to be be working with gold.
